WELCOMING REMARKS BY ENG. D.M.WANJAU

CHAIRMAN, DURING THE CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) SERVICE PROVIDERS WORKSHOP FOR ENGINEERS AT THE KENYA SCHOOL OF MONETARY STUDIES ON 12th OCTOBER 2017.

The Chief Guest, Infrastructure Secretary,

Fellow Board members,

Esteemed Participants,

All protocols observed,

It is my privilege to welcome you to today’s consultative forum for potential service providers for Continuous Professional Development programs for engineers.

This marks an important milestone for the Board as we gear up to rolling out the CPD programs.

Today’s workshop is in line with the Board’s policy of continuous engagement and consultations with all stakeholders as we strive to develop and improve the practice of engineering in Kenya.

The Board remains steadfast in its mission to ensure delivery of quality engineering services. The objective of the CPD programs for engineers is mainly to ensure that engineers keep abreast with ever changing technologies in order to deal effectively with emerging issues. Engineers must be able to prescribe solutions that meet the expectations of the Society using the most feasible technologies.

The Board is keen to accommodate competent providers to ensure that engineers derive utmost benefits from available training and therefore realise their full potential in offering adequate professional services. The Board therefore recognises the diversity of the profession and the need to attend to all the requirements of career and personal development of engineers, which can only be achieved by having an open-minded approach to Continuous Professional Development.

Arising from this meeting, the Board hopes to share with you its expectations as service providers and possibly partner with you in delivery of quality programs to engineers.

We look forward to a healthy discourse towards the development of the profession and by extension our beloved Country.

Thank You
