Professional Interview Panels
The PIP’S consist of experienced and senior engineers in the particular disciplines. The PIP’S are responsible for conducting professional review of Graduate Engineers who wish to progress to the Registered Engineer Status and of Registered Engineers who wish to progress to Consultant Status. They are also charged with the responsibilities of reviewing the work carried out during training for graduate engineers to ensure that quality experience has been acquired
The functions of the Professional Interview Panels (P.I.Ps.) are to receive and examine, through the Registrar, reports, documents, calculations and drawings prepared in accordance to the Board’s “Notes and Rules for candidates for the Professional Interview” to determine whether the applicant/engineer has experience, maturity of judgment and professional competence as an engineer. The P.I.P’s also interview the applicants/engineers
The results and recommendations of the Professional Interview Panels are presented to the Board for consideration and approval
The Board has four main Professional Interview Panels (P.I.Ps) namely:
Civil Panel
The Civil Panel receives and examines Professional Interview documents for all Civil, Structural and Highway applicants for registration as engineers
Mechanical Panel
The Mechanical Panel receives and examines Professional Interview documents from applicants of the following specialization:
Electrical Panel
The Electrical Panel receives and examines Professional Interview documents from all applicants of the following specializations:
Agricultural Panel
The Agricultural Panel receives and examines professional Interview documents for Agricultural Engineering applicants for registration as Engineers.
